The idea of a staged crash sounds interesting. I know it makes a powerful statement when the cars are in front of schools teaching kids about the dangers of texting while driving. Is there a cost associated to this and is the security committee handling all the logistics? Will info be posted about how fast the car was going, etc so that there is a story and folks know why the car is there?

Thanks!

Thanks Sheila. These are great questions.

I have worked with Stepp's Towing Services before on two occasions. Both two occasions were free. If this project gets the "ok", I can certainly work with John and Wendy to ensure the area is roped off for safety, logistic, signage/story board, etc.

Will update this message board as more information is received from Stepp's.

I think this is a great idea!

Please keep in mind that we have a community event on SATURDAY, JUNE 24TH (DINNER & A MOVIE on the lawn). I think the buzz from this first ever event will generate a pretty good turnout and having a staged crash on site would be a perfect opportunity to reinforce the harmful (& deadly) effects of speed and DUI! I would only request the staging area not impede with the Food Truck or movie viewing area and obviously work with John, Lisa (Lifestyles) and vendors on the layout.

I would recommend placing the set up beside the current radar sign across from the Beach Club. This would serve has a good high visibility point as well as place it by the speed sign to remind the community what our posted speed is. Most of these vehicles will still leak some fluid so we don't want it to do damage to the good grass or pavers while it is here for the week.

This a great idea and I hope a message be blasted to the community so that we will get maximum participation.
