After the last board meeting was completed, a resident asked Chairman Spiro to approve putting signs in the community about No Distracted Driving Month. I did approve putting a link on our website to the NSC website, however I would like to get the board member's opinions on the request to have signs in our community.
Here is an excerpt from the email from the resident.
"This video and link to the National Safety Council (NSC), I hope can be posted on the CDD and/or POA websites, as our safety committee launch to possible get a few distracting driving street signs put up around the community.
Kindly. Mr Forbes"

Thanks Cyril, David and the CDD and POA staff for posting information on both CDD and POA websites about April's National Distracting Awareness month.
When was the last time you drove and was not distracted by either the phone call, a text, an email, the radio, other passengers, the weather, putting on makeup, eating, etc?
I would like to see our beautiful community take a more positive stand and send a clear message that we take the safety of all that drivers, riders, runners and walkers.
I have placed a topic on the security and LAF committees' agenda to discuss the possible of putting up 5 New distracted driving signs. One at the beach club, one at each exits and entrances to the community.
What do you think?

I'm ok with signs if it fits the aesthetics of the community

I agree that it's a much needed awareness item for all drivers! However, I'm not sure about adding additional signage to our community. Maybe this comes back to Baju's idea of an electronic sign at the entrance?

Since distracted driving month starts today, finding an electronic sign may take a while. Perhaps a sign at the entrances in the same manner as the event signs is feasible.

Since we can't vote on this meeting board, how would that work out?

In theory, I could make a decision as the Chair, taking into account opinions expressed here, and at the board meeting I can be commended or lambasted for my decision.
